Our earliest ancestors stettled in Arlesheim in 1899 and the family has owned the Ochsen together with the leading regional butcher’s business since 1923.
The combination of the butcher’s skills and the Gasthof zum Ochsen has always been an unbeatable team.
The Jenzer family practices the butcher’s trade with great joy and passion. At present the business is run by the fourth generation and has over 60 employees in speciality shops in Arlesheim, Reinach and Muttenz.
With his innovative ideas and modern awareness of quality, Christoph Jenzer has greatly contributed to the further development of the business.
His motto is «100% Jenzer Natura Quality». We only sell meat from animals reared under especially humane conditions and endeavour to keep transport distances to a minimum. To ensure the best quality, meat is left on the bone in the traditional manner and hung in the cold store for 4 weeks.
