Enjoyment of meat with a long tradition
There is scarcely another restaurant that can equal the Ochsen’s close association with the enjoyment of fine quality meat. For several generations the perfect symbiosis between our warm hospitality and excellent meat has produced high culinary standards.
Our team takes great care to select all our food produce, it must be fresh, seasonal and wherever possible locally produced. "We still cook fresh food, we don’t just warm it up". It goes without saying that we make no compromise with our meat, only the best meat of Jenzer’s renowned Natura quality is used.
Of course our menu is tradionally dominated by meat, but it also includes fish and vetegarian dishes.
Despite coeliac disease you can still feast and savour a good meal
Our chef and his team use their expert knowledge to cook according to traditional recipes. We are a member of the Swiss Coeliac Society and all gluten-free dishes are clearly marked on our menu. Gluten-free bread rolls are always available. Many of our dishes that are not marked as gluten-free can still be enjoyed by simply changing a side-dish or sauce.
Since we only use fresh ingredients without any additives, we know exactly what goes into each dish: natural ingredients with an irresistible taste. We can also willingly prepare a lactose-free menu if required. We know what it means to be able to completely rely on a restaurant. Don’t hesitate to ask us, we will gladly advise you so that nothing detracts from your enjoyment. For us, cooking and eating are synonymous with quality of life – to delight your palate is our prime concern.

New: m-eating table (Unfortunately not possible at the moment:)
Eating is definitely more fun in the company of others but there are situations when one still has to dine alone in a restaurant. As our guest you can eat alone but you don’t have to.
We now offer a "m-eating table" for those who prefer not to eat alone. Get to know new people, enter into good discussions and eat in company. Exciting, unpredictable and always different – you should really try it once.
