Mission statement of the Hotel Gasthof zum Ochsen


The Hotel Gasthof zum Ochsen is a 4* hotel with 35 rooms, restaurant and banqueting rooms. The hotel and the adjoining butcher's shop have been owned by the Jenzer family since 1923. The long-standing family tradition is complemented with modern thinking and progress.

 

The guiding principle of the family business is "meat enjoyment combined with family tradition", and the restaurant is known for its excellent meat quality from the in-house butchery. We only serve meat in 100% Jenzer Nature quality from particularly species with appropriate animal farming and short transport routes. For the highest quality, the meat is traditionally hung and stored on the bone. By reinterpreting old recipes and specialties, less-known cuts of meat are also used according to the "from nose to tail" principle.

 

Air transport is also avoided for the remaining food and non-food items, and fair trade and regional products are preferred directly from the producer whenever possible.

 

Sustainability and environmental protection also play an important role in the management of the company. The company is constantly investing in new innovations to save resources and reduce food waste.
